Structural Steel Foundation & Slab Underpinning
 Foundation Services uses a steel pier product line built by Earth Contact Products, located in Olathe, Kansas. The "ECP Steel Pier" is manufactured in their 70,000 square foot state of the art facility using only mill certified materials and experienced welders. These piers, which are also referred to as "pins", "push pins", or "pin piers", have been tested and proven effective in all soil types to provide stability and long lasting performance.
They are able to be installed without the use of any large equipment, which results in minimal impact on existing lawns and landscaping. Each pier pipe is individually driven using hydraulic pumps. Then, a manifold lift system is used to lift as many pins as needed all at once. The steel pins are available in three sizes to accommodate different size structures and load capacities. The ultimate load capacities range from 55,000 lbs. to 99,000 lbs. Our standard pier material is a 3-1/2" diameter galvanized pipe that is 3'-6" long. These sections are coupled together and advanced to the depth needed to reach the load bearing strata, or bedrock.
These pins can be installed under existing foundations from the outside or the inside of the structure as needed. Foundation Services uses another ECP pipe product for underpinning slabs that have settled. This pier pipe has a 1-5/8" diameter and comes in 3" sections. It has an ultimate load capacity of 20,000 lbs. These products are often used in unison to remediate a structure that has settled under the interior slab as well as around the perimeter footing.
