The hospital wing addition for the Moffitt Cancer Center required approximately 9 ft. deep excavation of existing soils for installation of support piles, but undermining the existing structure was a strict concern. So the hospital called upon Florida’s leading soil stabilization company, StableSoils, a Foundation Services company and member of The Sinkhole Pros team.
StableSoils injected its 1-part Soil Binder proprietary product to hold back the foundation soils. Soil Binder was injected at a depth of 10 ft. while extracting the rods on 2 ft. center.
The bonded soil wall remained intact during the entire excavation. A few days after our portion of the work was completed, a heavy rain came through Central Florida causing major erosion all around the Moffitt Center. The location we injected our 1-part Soil Binder was the only area that had zero erosion!
